Privacy Policy — Sports Dynasty: Football
This Privacy Policy explains what information the mobile game Sports Dynasty: Football (Android package name com.sportsdynasty.football; shown on your device as “SD: Football”) collects, why, who receives it, and what choices and rights you have. It applies to the game as it is currently distributed on Google Play. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the developer of the game (see Who we are and how to contact us).
Summary
- The game is offline and single-player. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no cloud saves, no push notifications, and we do not run our own servers.
- Your saved games, the name you type for your owner character, team names, imported logos and league files are stored only on your device. We do not receive them, except that the name of the team you manage is included in analytics events (see Analytics and crash reports).
- The Android app uses Google services: Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, which start when the app launches; Google AdMob for ads, including Google’s consent tool (User Messaging Platform); and Google Play Billing for purchases.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Google’s consent form asks whether ads may be personalized. Analytics and crash reporting are currently not controlled by that form.
- We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party services we use
All of these services are currently active only in the Android version of the game. Retention periods are explained in more detail in How long we keep information.
| Service | Provider | Data | When collected | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Google (Google Ireland Limited in the EU/EEA; Google LLC elsewhere) | App instance ID; Android advertising ID; device model, OS version, language/locale; approximate location (country/region derived from IP address); automatic events (first open, sessions, screens, in-app purchases); game events listed below, including the name of your managed team and the Google Play order ID of purchases | From app launch, while you use the app | Understanding how the game is played, measuring features, ads and purchases, improving the game | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Event data per our Analytics retention setting, maximum 14 months |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error stack traces; device and OS state at the time of the crash (e.g. model, OS version, memory, orientation); Crashlytics installation identifier | From app launch, when the app crashes or reports an error | Finding and fixing crashes and bugs | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) | About 90 days | |
| Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), including the User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Google, and third-party ad partners participating in Google’s ad auctions | Android advertising ID; IP address; device and app information; ad requests, impressions, clicks and rewarded-ad completion; your consent choices | When the app starts (consent check and ads SDK initialization) and when ads are requested and shown | Showing interstitial and optional rewarded ads, measuring ads, preventing fraud; personalizing ads where permitted | Consent for personalized ads where required (collected via UMP); legitimate interests for non-personalized ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention | Per Google’s retention policies |
| Google Play Billing | Purchase details (product, order ID, purchase token, time); payment details are handled by Google only | When you make or restore a purchase | Processing purchases and delivering items | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) | Per Google Play’s policies; a record of delivered purchases is kept on your device |
The game also uses standard system features that do not send data to us: the Android share sheet (to share an exported league file), the file picker (to choose a logo image or a league file to import), and links that open your browser or email app.
The game does not include any other analytics or attribution SDKs, social-network SDKs, or ad mediation networks, and it does not request location, camera, contacts or microphone permissions. The Android permissions it uses are internet access, network state, Google Play billing and the advertising ID permission.
Information stored only on your device
The following information is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. We do not receive it and it is not sent to our service providers (with the exception of the team name in analytics events, described below):
- Saved games: the full game state, including the first and last name you type for your owner character, team names and cities you edit, and your game progress.
- Imported content: custom team logo images (PNG/JPG) and league files (
.gmleague.json) you choose to import. Copies are kept inside the app. - Purchase and ad state: which premium items you own, ad counters, pending rewards and identifiers of purchases already delivered (used to avoid delivering the same purchase twice).
- Settings: for example measurement units and which introductory screens you have already seen.
Device backups. Android’s automatic backup is not disabled for this app, so, depending on your device settings, the app’s files may be included in your device backup stored in your Google account. Such backups are handled by Google under your agreement with Google, and we have no access to them.
Exporting and sharing. If you export a league file, the game creates the file and opens the Android share sheet. The file goes only to the apps or people you choose. This is entirely your action; we do not receive a copy.
Deleting local data. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data in Android settings deletes this information from your device. Copies in device backups or files you have exported or shared are not affected. Because there is no cloud save, deleted progress and in-game items cannot be restored by us (purchased premium unlocks can be restored via “Restore purchases” in the shop).
Analytics and crash reports
Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics start automatically when you open the Android app. They do not currently wait for, or depend on, the ad consent form, and the app does not currently offer a separate switch to turn them off. See Your rights for how to object.
In addition to the information Google Analytics collects automatically, the game sends these events:
- Game progress: new game started (with the managed team, starting background, season, game mode and archetype), game loaded (season and team), game exited, phase, week and season advanced, franchise level up, owner fired (with the in-game reason), facility upgraded (facility type and level), stadium built (capacity tier), staff hired or fired (staff role). These events also carry in-game values such as the season, week and phase.
- Ads: ad requested, loaded, failed, shown or not ready (with the ad slot and, for failures, the ad error code); interstitial shown (placement); rewarded ad watched (placement and whether it was watched to the end).
- Purchases: purchase completed (product ID and Google Play order ID) and purchase rejected by the app’s local receipt check (product ID and the rejection reason).
- Screens: which screens are viewed.
- User properties: current season, franchise level, and whether you own Premium.
Team name. The “team” value is the city and name of the team you manage (for example “City Name”). Because you can edit team names and cities in the game, any text you enter there will be sent to Google Analytics. Please do not use your real name or other personal information as a team name or city.
The owner name you type, save slot names, logos and league files are not sent. We do not set a user ID in Analytics or Crashlytics and we do not attach custom identifiers to crash reports.
How we use information
- To run the game and deliver the items you buy or earn.
- To understand how players use the game (for example which features are used and where players stop) and to improve game design and balance.
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.
- To show ads, measure their performance and, where permitted, personalize them.
- To verify purchases, prevent abuse and handle refund or purchase questions.
- To answer your emails and requests, including privacy requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Legal bases (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Analytics and crash reporting — our legitimate interests in improving and stabilizing the game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These services currently run from launch and are not governed by the consent form. You have the right to object at any time (see Your rights).
- Personalized advertising — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), collected through Google’s User Messaging Platform where required. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads.
- Non-personalized ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention — our legitimate interest in funding the free game through ads, and Google’s own legal bases as described in its policies. Where local law requires consent for storing or accessing information on your device for these purposes, the consent form covers this.
- Purchases — performance of a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Support emails — our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps taken at your request.
- Legal obligations — for example keeping records required by law (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Advertising
The game is free to play and shows ads through Google AdMob:
- Interstitial ads (full-screen) at a few points in each season — at most three per season (for example at the start of the season, mid-season and before the playoffs).
- Rewarded ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward (such as an in-game cash bonus or a stadium restyle). The reward is given only after the ad is completed. Rewarded ads remain available if you own Premium.
Buying a Premium item removes interstitial ads. The game does not show banner, app-open or native ads.
Consent. When the app starts, Google’s User Messaging Platform checks whether a consent form is required in your region and, if so, shows it. Ads are only loaded once Google’s tool reports that ads can be requested. Whether ads are personalized (based on your advertising ID and interests) or non-personalized (based on context such as the app and general location) is decided by your choices in that form. Non-personalized ads still use identifiers and device data for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.
The app does not currently include a button to reopen the consent form. To change your choices you can:
- Reset or delete your advertising ID: on most Android devices, open Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads) and choose “Reset advertising ID” or “Delete advertising ID”. On older Android versions you can choose “Opt out of Ads Personalization”. Menu names vary by device and Android version.
- Clear the app’s data in Android settings, which also clears the stored consent choices so the form can be shown again where required. Note that this also deletes your saved games.
- Contact us (see Who we are and how to contact us) with any question or objection.
Ads may be served by Google and by third-party ad partners in Google’s auctions. Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can also manage ad settings in your Google account at https://myadcenter.google.com/.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your card or other payment details; Google handles payment under its own terms and privacy policy.
When you buy something, Google Play returns purchase information (such as the product, order ID and a signed purchase receipt) to the app. The app checks the receipt’s signature locally on your device — we have no server that receives your purchases — and then delivers the item and stores a record of delivered purchases on your device. The product ID and order ID are also sent to Google Analytics (see Analytics and crash reports).
If you contact us about a purchase, we may ask for the order ID to help you. Refunds follow Google Play’s refund policy, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights.
International transfers
Google processes data in the United States and other countries outside the EU/EEA. For such transfers Google relies on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.
How long we keep information
- Google Analytics event data: kept according to our Analytics data retention setting, for a maximum of 14 months; aggregated reports that do not identify you may be kept longer.
- Crashlytics crash data: about 90 days.
- Advertising data: according to Google’s retention policies.
- Purchase records: kept by Google Play according to its policies; the record of delivered purchases on your device stays until the app’s data is deleted.
- Support emails: as long as needed to handle your request, and up to 2 years afterwards, unless a longer period is required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.
- Local game data: on your device until you uninstall the game or clear its data (see backups caveat above).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, and in particular under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict processing;
- data portability;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, including analytics and crash reporting;
- withdraw consent at any time (for personalized ads), without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
How to exercise your rights. Email us (see Who we are and how to contact us). Because we do not use accounts or user IDs, we usually cannot link analytics or crash data to you by name. To help us find data relating to your device, you may be asked for information such as the approximate date and time of your activity or a purchase order ID. An objection to analytics or crash reporting cannot currently be applied inside the app (there is no switch to turn these services off); the only way to stop this collection completely is to stop using and uninstall the game. We will respond within one month, which may be extended where permitted by law. You can also act directly: reset or delete your advertising ID, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the game.
Is providing data required? You are not required by law or by contract to provide personal data. The Android app collects the analytics, crash and advertising data described above automatically while you use it; if you do not want this, do not use the game. Declining personalized ads in the consent form does not stop you from playing.
Complaints. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please write to us first — we will try to sort it out. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Children
The game is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. In the EU the age at which a person can consent to online services varies (from 13 to 16, depending on the country); where required, a parent or guardian must give consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the game, contact us and we will help delete it where possible.
California and other US states
In the past 12 months the game has collected the following categories of personal information, as described above: identifiers (advertising ID, app instance and installation IDs, IP address), internet or other electronic activity (in-game events, ad interactions), commercial information (purchases), approximate geolocation derived from IP address, and device information. We do not collect sensitive personal information. Sources are your device and your use of the game. Purposes are listed in How we use information.
We do not sell personal information. Using personalized advertising may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by deleting or resetting your advertising ID or opting out of ads personalization in your Android settings, and, where the consent form is shown, through your choices in it. You have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email us. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
Security
Data sent to Google services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We do not operate our own servers, and your game data stays in the app’s private storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you use the iOS version
An iOS version of the game is planned but is not available at the time of this update. If and when it is released, the following will apply in addition to the rest of this policy:
- Purchases will be processed by Apple through the App Store. We will not receive your payment details; Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
- Advertising: the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) will be used only if you allow tracking in Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not, ads will be shown without the IDFA, and ad attribution may use Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Analytics and crash reporting will use Firebase with the identifier for vendors (IDFV) and the Firebase app instance ID, not the IDFA unless you allow tracking.
- Backups: your local saves may be included in iCloud or device backups according to your iOS settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game or the law changes. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top, and we will highlight material changes on this page and, where appropriate, in the game.
